Book 10 - Spells

This is the sequel to a book called Wings by Aprilynne Pike - Spells.  I enjoy fairy stories so much <3 <3

"I can't just storm in and proclaim my intentions. I can't ‘steal' you away. I just have to wait and hope that, someday, you'll ask," Tamani said.
"And if I don't?" Laurel said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Then I guess I'll be waiting forever."

"Although Laurel has come to accept her true identity as a faerie, she refuses to turn her back on her human life—and especially her boyfriend, David—to return to the faerie world.
But when she is summoned to Avalon, Laurel's feelings for the charismatic faerie sentry Tamani are undeniable. She is forced to make a choice—a choice that could break her heart." - From Amazon

I hope to get to the next book!  It's currently waiting in a pile of  . . . lots of other books.  (It's almost as high as my desk, and those are just library books!!!)

Book 9 - the summer of cotton candy

A new kind of book for me.  Something categorized as "Christian Chick Lit."  The summer of cotton candy, by Debbie Viguie, was a cute, fun, and rather playful book :)

"Most people think The Zone is an amusement park, but Candy Thompson knows it's really a slave labor camp. What else would you call a summer job that requires a sixteen-year-old girl to set aside her whole social life for the privilege of standing out in the hot sun selling cotton candy? Still, there are perks---particularly the mysterious hunk in the Lone Ranger costume. Behind that mask are the most amazing eyes Candy has ever seen. Who is that masked man? But someone else is just as interested. And romantic competition isn't the only problem. Besides being hard work, The Zone is eating up major time. How is Candy supposed to stay involved in church? Worse yet, will she lose her best friend, Tamara, who resents how Candy's job limits their time together? This is NOT the summer Candy hoped for! But as she is about to discover, the summer of cotton candy will be the greatest summer of her life." - From Amazon

Book 8 - Beauty Sleep

This is the second book in the series "Once Upon a Time is Timeless."  I think they are brilliant.  Retold fairy tales are some of my favorite things to read.  This one was Sleeping Beauty.  By Cameron Dokey.

"The Princess Aurore has had an unusual childhood. Cursed at birth, Aurore is fated to prick her finger at the age of sixteen and sleep for one hundred years -- until a prince awakens her with a kiss. So, to protect her, Aurore's loving parents forbid any task requiring a needle.

Unable to sew or embroider like most little princesses, Aurore instead explores the castle grounds and beyond, where her warmth and generosity soon endear her to the townspeople. their devotion to the spirited princess grows as she does.

On her sixteenth birthday, Aurore learns that the impending curse will harm not only her, but the entire kingdom as well. Unwilling to cause suffering, she will embark on a quest to end the evil magic. The princess's bravery will be rewarded as she finds adventure, enchantment, a handsome prince, and ultimately her destiny" - From Amazon

Such a lovely story!

Regency Ball (the theater)

When the first interlude from dancing came, the doors to a magnificent theater were opened.  Beautiful windows and pillars and staircases were to be found, and we found ourselves traveling up staircase after staircase to  see what lay ahead.  There we found that it truly was a theater, not just pretty scenery outside of it.  We ran through flights of staircases to be scene as we are below.

A grand stage!

Regency Ball (the dances)

Oh, it was lovely!  So many beautiful dances (and dancers, of course!)  I took the two below pictures.  Probably the only two I will specify because the camera got passed around so many times, and there were two cameras.  But I knew I took these XD

Starting Out :)

The four of us girls, dancing together. At least for now, lol.  we move so swiftly in dances!

Who knew dancing could be so much work?!

Calleigh teaching (or trying to teach) me how to waltz ^_^
